Peek Traffic 3000E and M3000 Master controllers represent the latest
state-of-the-art in traffic control technology. The Peek controllers are
available in various configurations including internal FSK, internal fiber
optic modems, and emergency & railroad preemption. Interconnect capabilities
consist of twisted pair, timed base, fiber optic and spread spectrum radio
as well as being NTCIP compliant. The proven software of the current 3000E
controller has been improved with a new user interface and complimented
by a new front panel layout. An 8 x 40 character LCD screen allows for
easy interface with context sensitive help screens. These local & master
controllers comprise the latest in the closed loop system industry. Peek is
one of the largest manufacturers of traffic controllers in the world.

 

 

Traffic Control Products assembles TS1 & TS2 cabinets for the Peek controllers. We manufacture panels in various configurations and can even custom design your cabinets. Our cabinets can be painted inside, outside, or both. All cabinets are tested for a week to insure that it is free of defect.

 

 

170 Controllers

At one time, manufacturers of traffic controllers were supplying non-standard equipment (each controller was completely different) Technicians were forced to learn and be able to program up to 5 different types of controllers. A growing interest began in the early 1970’s to develop one standard controller that allowed for interchangeability between both hardware and software.

The 170 controller, as originally defined by the FHWA IP78 standard, started both Caltrans and New York DOT’s on the path to standardization of this concept. Today, the 170 enjoys wide spread use throughout the country as intersection controllers, ramp metering, surveillance, sprinkler control, and closed loop system local and master controllers. It’s open architecture permits the 170 to be adaptable to a wide variety of special applications through the development of software. It is easily upgradeable through software, has standard communication interface, and is 100% tested by a governmental agency.

 

2070L Controllers

The latest addition to the 170 family is the 2070L - an advanced transportation controller. Utilizing rugged field processors and communication systems, they can be configured for a variety of traffic management applications. The controllers are modular in design and compatible with 170, 170E, 2070ATC and NEMA specified equipment.

An 8 x 40 character LCD display allows for easy programming and an Ethernet communication port is also provided for communications.

 

170ATC Controllers

The 170ATC is a multi-purpose microcomputer and utilizes the same processor as the 2070. It is capable of using the same operating system and can operate the same software as the 2070. It incorporates the same design concepts as required by the ATC committee for the advanced transportation controllers and is in total compliance with Oregon specifications.

These cabinets are versatile and modular in design for control of up to eight vehicle and four pedestrian phases. An optional configuration provides six additional load switch positions for use as overlaps, seven wire interconnect outputs, or a variety of special function outputs. All assemblies are mounted in a 19” EIA rack for ease of maintenance and are fully interchangeable. The use of standard subassemblies, as defined by Caltrans and FHWA, assures interchangeability between manufacturers.

 

 

 

 

 

ITS Cabinets

The ITS cabinet system consists of three different sized units that are designed for component interchangeability. They use standard serial interface units for input and output control. All sub-assemblies are mounted in a removable 19” EIA rack for ease of maintenance and are fully interchangeable between ITS cabinets. The cabinets meet all Advanced Transportation Committee requirements.

CLMATS

Peek Traffic Systems CLMATS is a scalable closed loop traffic management system software designed to provide the robust capabilities of MATS (Multi Arterial Traffic System) when a centrally based system is not required.

CLMATS does not require a large & expensive central computer. CLMATS needs only a common Pentium based personal computer. CLMATS is highly scalable, which means that a system can be implemented at minimal cost and expand as funds become available.

CLMATS employs the same closed loop system masters as the MATS intelligent communication hubs. These masters have the ability to collect and process data, then direct each intersection as to the proper pattern, providing a major benefit over central systems. CLMATS has three levels of control: subsystem, zone, and local control.

CLMATS provides the flexibility of assigning up to four linking control sections under the same master. Status displays such as master and intersection maps, and controller front panel display can be viewed in concurrent windows. CLMATS provides many of the superior features of MATS in a cost effective closed loop system and is an excellent solution to effective traffic system management.

Emergency Pre-emption Systems

We distribute Tomar, the leading Emergency Signal Preemption product, using optical detection to give emergency vehicles a protected green light when approaching an intersection. There is no need to tell an experienced Emergency Service Professional how dangerous their work can be. However, there is another danger: congested roads, drivers that have their stereos blasting, drivers on cell phones, people eating while driving, impatient drivers, and aggressive drivers- all that can lead to accidents.

 

Tomar Strobecom Emergency Preemption is the perfect solution to help emergency vehicles travel safely and more efficiently while on an emergency call.

 

The Strobecom system uses infrared light to send specialized coded and uncoded signals from your vehicles to your traffic intersection equipment. When valid signals are received by the Strobecom system, the traffic controller will safely hold a “Green” or turn signals from “Red” to “Green”, and hold it until you have safely passed through.

Tomar also has an optional coding module that plugs into the emitter power supply via communications port. This potted coding module houses a non-volatile ID generator. The ID module can be programmed with up to four Emergency and Transit band codes held simultaneously in memory. This ID can be used to prioritize certain vehicles over others (ex. - ambulances will have priority over buses) The ID’s can also be used to track how often a certain vehicle activates and intersection.

 

Why use optical preemption vs. siren activated preemption?
